The Undead Adventures of Tweed Guy

Postby sarlacc_pitt » Wed Jul 28, 2010 8:37 pm

Apparently, there has been some interest surrounding the death of myself, Alistair Pitt, who is apparently now known as "Tweed Guy" or "Tweed Man", for my decision to wear a tweed jacket as a (former) member of The Cavalry the whole time. So I felt that I would share not only this experience, but also others that may occur during my un-death.

The basics can be summarised thus:
NightDaemon wrote:This was an epic kill. Nerf ball being charged, three of us grabbed for the same tweed meal. One gun, three zombies. Omnom.

Now for the detailed explanation:

As everyone should now be aware, the humans were told to head to the Street Theatre to meet up with Kaplan Thornhill at (or before) 12:05pm. The mission was the escort Mr. Thornhill to the Psychology courtyard. After successfully doing so, we humans were told (in secret) that we had to go and find Le Keepeur d'shoppe, who was on Fellows Oval, and get him to the Union Court Bridge.

After Greg Shortland contacted PiP, it was decided that our group would act as a big diversion, and PiP would go and grab Le Keepeur d'shoppe. The plan was to stand in front of Psychology, and at the first sign of a charge, we were to get inside the building. People then decided to move so that we were a little bit forward of the doorway, so we didn’t block the entrance.

All is still well at this point. Then, someone started panicking about not wanting to die, and retreated. As he displayed a textbook example of Cowardice in the Face of the Enemy, many in our Nerf Ball also panicked and started to run. It is at this point that Chris Carter (I could be mistaken) initiated a zombie charge. “Okay,” I thought to myself, “here they come. We can take them.”

However, I was not aware at this stage that the Nerf Ball had turned into a full-on retreat, and I suddenly found myself un-supported with four other humans. I did not get their names, but I shall refer to them as Vulcan, Tommy and Maverick, based on the weapon’s I saw them holding at the time (I may be mistaken about the last one). Tommy was to my far left, and I saw him fall. Vulcan was to my immediate left, and died just before I did. Maverick was to my right, and I did not know what happened to him until after the metaphorical dust had settled.

As for my death, it went thus: a zombie runs in front of Vulcan and myself, and is taken out by the two of us. Then April Smithers runs at me. I fire two shots, both of which contact. Then Chris runs across my line of vision. A few shots later, I have stunned him (I should mention at this point that I have a Raider, with the drum attached). A fourth zombie charges at me, which I take down with yet more shots. At this point, I am pretty sure that Tommy is tagged. I remember turning around for some reason, and discover fifth zombie is running at me to get me from behind. I believe it was the “NightDaemon” mentioned earlier, but I would like that confirmed. After he is tagged, I turn around again, to discover Aaron Hairsine and a sixth zombie pretty much leaping out at me. By this stage, Vulcan is silent, so I assume he’s been tagged. I fire a shot, which goes too high, and both Aaron and Zombie #6 tag me. I couldn’t tell which one had tagged me first, so I left it to the two of them to sort it out, while other zombies praised my death. Apparently, there was a “Rock-Paper-Scissors” match between my killers, and the result was Aaron won, and therefore claimed my death.

Results: I am now a zombie, Aaron got his second kill (congratulations Aaron, bad luck Zombie #6), I was the proud owner of an Escapite for about 10 seconds (the Escapite was held by April), at least 5 zombies were stunned in my final moments, I gained yet another nickname, and there are 16 darts left in my Raider, out of 35. All things considered, a good way to die.
3rd time, I ran a picnic
4th time, I nearly ran the whole game

The way I remember it was somewhat faster than this implies. For some reason, he paused shooting as I came in. I lunged at him, grabbed his arm... a quarter second too late. By the time I realised I hadn't gotten my first meal, two others came around behind him. Honestly, they came out of nowhere for *me*, but I was pretty focused on that tasty tweed-clad brain...
Never let a zombie be in charge of flipping a coin, they'll always say it came back heads. Partly for the sweet sweet brains inside, but mostly... dead men tell no tails.

Dart tag:
SCIENCE!

Game 3: 37 hours survived, 3 zombies stunned. No brains eaten.

Game 4: We shall see...

And yet you still shot me as I lunged in? Interesting... :P
